Dermal fillers, by contrast, work by introducing hyaluronic acids underneath your skin. Hyaluronic acids are naturally occurring materials that your body produces to keep your skin moisturized and healthy. But the production of these acids can sometimes slow as we age.
Dermal fillers replenish your store of hyaluronic acids. In doing so, dermal fillers – such as Kybella® and Restylane® – can plump up and fill out targeted areas of your face. For example, Kybella® is an FDA-approved non-surgical treatment for a double chin, while Restylane® can eliminate fine lines and creases around your nose and mouth.
